Tunnel of love
Tunnel of love (Ukr. The tunnel of love) is a natural monument of local importance. It is located near the village of Klevan, in the Rivne district of the Rivne region of Ukraine, on the segment of the railway track leading from Klevan to the village of Orzhev.
It is a Botanical phenomenon-a green tunnel in a forest area about 4 km long, created by thickets of trees and bushes that intertwined with each other and created a dense tunnel with an exact arched shape. An industrial train passes this way three times a day.Legends and omens
The tunnel is a place of pilgrimage for tourists and couples of lovers. There is a tourist legend that if a couple in love, who will pass through the tunnel, make a wish, then this wish will be fulfilled. Some newlyweds plant flowers here that symbolize their feelings.
In early November 2013, the media reported that 700 meters of trees along the tunnel had been cut down in a staggered manner. the Prosecutor’s office and the state environmental Inspectorate assessed the scale of the damage. It has been suggested that the “Tunnel of love” was destroyed as a result of the felling. Japanese Director Akiyoshi Imazaki directed the romantic drama “Klevan: tunnel of Love”in 2014. The first screening of the film took place on November 23, 2014 at the Hanoi international film festival, but its premiere is scheduled for 2015. The plot of the film is directly related to the Ukrainian miracle of nature.
