The giant Te Pake sand dunes are a 10-minute drive from the Cape Ring lighthouse, the northernmost point of the North Island and New Zealand as a whole. Last time, on the way back home, I was so carried away by the winding serpentine road that we passed the lapel on the sand without blinking an eye! Vacation, and the summer of the 15th, we spent most of the time first on the South island, and then on local beaches near the house, so that the traditional trip to the North we somehow postponed by ourselves until the best case!
