The Taj Mahal is the “pearl of India”, the “eighth wonder of the world”, one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. Built by order of Shah Jahan, the Mughal Emperor, it has been the main symbol of lost love for more than three hundred years.
Shah Jahan was very fond of his wife. Mumtaz Mahal eclipsed all the wives and concubines of the ruler of the Empire, she became not only a beloved woman, but also a friend and assistant to the Emperor. Continue reading
Machu Picchu (in Quechua, machu pikchu means ” Old Mountain”) is a mysterious Inca city built in the middle of the XV century, and the main attraction for which travelers go on tours of Peru. It is located about 100 km from the capital of the Inca Empire, Cuzco, in the mountains at an altitude of 2450 meters above sea level and is so hidden in the Andes that the Spanish colonizers could not reach it. We learned about this city in 1911 thanks to the American scientist from Yale Hiram Bingham.
